There are a lot of different ways you can approach Social Media and building your following but there are a few things you can do that will make it much more successful! I am going to make this one a bit short since bullet points are easier to follow!
1. Build your aesthetic and get your content up!! Many people don’t purchase music anymore; most will listen to Pandora, YouTube, Spotify, or many other Internet radio stations over purchasing a song! Make sure you are keeping your fans or potential fans engaged by consistently putting up content!
2. If you decided to start covering songs on YouTube, give people a reason to listen to you over the original artist. Make sure it has a specific voice that is unique to you! If you hear “You sound just like Lana Del Rey!” then that’s a bad sign! She already has that market! You need to know who you are! And make sure you have your original songs up so that people can then click and hear your music!
3. Identify who you are speaking to! Make sure you know what market is going to listen to your music! What group of people is going to be your super fans??? You need to know so that when you put everything together it is specific to them!
4. Know what artists are similar to you! Find out how you can categorize your music and reach fans of that type of music.
Remember that you have the ability to share something through social media and have someone across the world like it and share it!
